Transport in Inverness
Inverness train station has direct links to Aberdeen (2.5 hours), Edinburgh (4 hours) and Glasgow (4 hours). A sleeper train runs between London Euston and Inverness on the East Coast Mainline and is ideal for those who want to travel at night and wake up at their destination. In terms of motorways, Inverness is connected by the A9, A82 and A96 to Scotland’s two main cities, as well as routes to England.
The town centre is easily navigable on foot, and parking is available if required. Buses are semi-regular although always reliable. They cover the surrounding villages as well as going out to popular attractions like Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle and the Culloden Battlefield.
