Living in Salisbury
One of the best things about living in Salisbury is the amount of well-regarded independent eateries and drinking spots. The city has an incredible arts and culture offering for one of its size. The Salisbury International Arts Festival is not to be missed, and the Salisbury Playhouse and the Salisbury Museum offer something all year round. It’s for these reasons that many residents choose to live close to the city centre.
Five minutes drive from the centre of town is Stratford sub Castle, a semi-rural village that is now a northern suburb of the city. Close to the Avon Valley Nature Reserve as well as two good schools: Stratford Sub Castle Primary and Leehurst Swan (independent). Homes here vary: expect to choose between 1970s detached houses and Victorian terraces, all of which are priced above the national average around £400,000.
Other areas to consider include Downton, Woodfalls and Redlynch which are lovely family friendly villages in Salisbury’s periphery.
