Buying in Halifax
Situated in West Yorkshire, Halifax has often been overlooked, but real investment has ensured that this market town has quickly been restored to its former glory. In the 18th century, the town was the centre of the British wool industry, and today, it has the beautiful restored Piece Hall to show for it, with its European-style plaza filled with historical exhibits, shops, bars and restaurants.
Close enough to Bradford, Leeds and Manchester to be easily commutable, homes here are still affordable. Locals enjoy the town’s music scene, the fantastic covered Borough Market, the Square Chapel Arts Centre and the nearby children’s museum, Eureka. And when the hustle and bustle of the town centre no longer appeals, head out to the Pennines to blow the cobwebs away.
